At Life Again, we provide shelter, support, and a path to recovery for women and young people facing substance use and mental health challenges. With compassion and care, we help them reclaim their lives with dignity and hope.
Founded in 2022 by Mariella Uwimana, a survivor of the 1994 Rwandan Genocide, Life Again is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals, especially women and young people, overcome substance use and mental health challenges.
Mariella’s personal journey from homelessness to healing fuels our mission: to provide safe, compassionate spaces where those struggling with addiction and trauma can find hope, healing, and a path forward. Drawing from lived experience, our approach is trauma-informed, gender-responsive, and rooted in dignity.
Through transitional shelter, therapy, recovery workshops, and community empowerment programs, we support our clients every step of the way — from crisis to confidence, from survival to stability.
